RUN - March 9

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2

"Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must; just never give up." - Dean Karnazes

In Hebrews 12:1-2, the author compares the Christian life to a race, urging believers to run with perseverance. This emphasizes the importance of endurance, focus, and determination. Just as athletes train rigorously and run with purpose, so too are we called to persevere in running the race of faith, fixing our eyes on Jesus as our ultimate example and source of strength.

Endurance is built through consistent practice and perseverance. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the one who endured the cross for the joy set before Him. When challenges arise, turn to Him for guidance, strength, and encouragement. Don't give up. Don't fall out. There will be obstacles, setbacks, and moments of weariness, but don't give up. Keep pressing forward, knowing that the prize of eternal life awaits those who finish the race faithfully.

Prayer and Meditation:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the race of faith that you have called us to run. Give us the strength and perseverance to throw off everything that hinders us and to run with endurance the race marked out for us. May we fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, and find strength and courage in Him. Help us to never give up, but to press forward with determination, knowing that you are with us every step of the way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
