The Enduring Love of God - February 13

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1

"In normal life, we hardly realize how much more we receive than we give, and life cannot be rich without such gratitude. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of our own achievements compared with what we owe to the help of others." ~Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Psalm 136 begins with the declaration, "His love endures forever." This phrase is repeated in every verse of the psalm, underscoring the eternal nature of God's love. Unlike human love, which is often conditional and transient, God's love is steadfast and unchanging. It stretches across time and space, reaching every corner of creation.

The psalmist exhorts us to "give thanks to the Lord, for he is good." Gratitude is a natural response to experiencing God's goodness and love. Take time to reflect on the blessings in your life and offer thanks to God for His provision, mercy, and grace. Cultivate a habit of gratitude, acknowledging God's goodness in both the big blessings and the small everyday joys.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your enduring love that never fails. Help us to cultivate hearts of gratitude for Your goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Empower us to respond to Your love by loving You with all our hearts and loving others as ourselves. May Your love shine brightly through us, bringing glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
