Love: The Unifying Virtue - February 4

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14

"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Mother Teresa

Love is not just another virtue among many but rather the virtue that binds all others together in perfect unity. The other virtues are compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience as mentioned earlier in the chapter. Love serves as a unifying force, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs in harmony and mutual respect.

The phrase "put on love" carries the idea of intentionally adopting or clothing ourselves with love as a garment. This concept implies an active decision to manifest love in our thoughts, words, and actions, much like putting on clothing every day.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of love that unites and transforms our hearts. Help us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, allowing Your love to flow through us to others. May we experience the power of love in our relationships and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
